The Rosário de Fumeiro is a garland of assorted smoked sausages traditionally hung from kitchen rafters in Trás-os-Montes. Named for its resemblance to a rosary, it typically includes alheira, chouriço, salpicão, and other regional sausages cured in the smoke of the home fireplace.
Each household's rosário reflects its particular recipes and the quality of the year's matança. Today, rosários are sold at fairs and markets as gift assortments, preserving the visual tradition.
