Kiwi Português
By Ana Rodrigues

Portugal is one of Europe's largest kiwi producers, with the Minho region providing ideal growing conditions.
Portugal began commercial kiwi cultivation in the 1980s and has since become one of the top producers in Europe. The Minho region, with its abundant rainfall and mild temperatures, provides perfect conditions for the Hayward variety.
Portuguese kiwis are harvested from November to January and are prized for their sweetness and vitamin C content. Kiwi orchards have become an important part of Minho's agricultural economy alongside traditional vinho verde vineyards.
