Quinta

Quinta - Portuguese gastronomy

A Portuguese wine estate or farm property, particularly associated with the port wine estates of the Douro Valley.

A quinta is a Portuguese country estate or farm, most famously associated with the wine-producing properties of the Douro Valley. In port wine, a quinta refers to a specific vineyard estate, often perched on dramatic terraced hillsides.

Single-quinta ports represent wines from a single estate in a single vintage, considered among the finest expressions of their terroir. Visiting quintas for tastings has become a cornerstone of Portuguese wine tourism.
