Uva Fernão Pires - Portuguese gastronomy

Portugal's most widely planted white grape, dominant in the Lisbon region and essential for aromatic wines.

Fernão Pires, also known as Maria Gomes in the Bairrada, is the white grape with the largest planted area in Portugal. Particularly abundant in the Lisbon region, it produces aromatic wines with floral and citrus notes.

A versatile variety that adapts to different winemaking styles, from fresh and fruity whites to oak-aged versions. In the Bucelas region, it achieves expressions of great minerality and ageing potential.
